Most health insurance plans will cover nutrition counseling, as a preventative service or as part of treatment for a health condition. We accept TriCare, United Healthcare, Medicare, Blue Cross, MultiPlan, Cigna, Aetna, First Health, and Mertain.
What can I expect from my first visit?↓
During your first appointment, we will review your current status and health concerns, eating habits, and nutrition goals. Together we will begin to devise a personalized plan to start you on your path towards meeting your goals. This may include food and product suggestions, simple meal planning stragtegies, nutrition educaition, supplement and lab testing reccomendations, and a plan for follow up appointments.
I do not live in Edwardsville? Can I still work with you?↓
Yes! We offer telehealth services via a HIPPA compliant platform, Doxy.
How do I prepare for my first visit?↓
Before your appointment, we will ask you provide your insurance information, along with any recent labwork and testing if available, and complete an in depth health questionarre. You will also receive an email with access to a client portal where this information can be completed.
What health conditions do you work with?↓
We utilize medical nutrition therapy to help those struggling with a range of digestive issues including IBS, IBD, SIBO, celiac disease, those with autoimmune conditions including diabetes, thyroid disease, fibromyalgia, lupus, and more, and those struggling to find a healthy weight. We also work with families looking to improve overall nutrition in the home.
Does Eat Practical offer meal plans?↓
We can provide our clients with access to several, dietitian created meal plans including low fodmap, diabetic, keto, and more. We do find however that most patients will have more success long term with learning HOW to eat the foods they enjoy vs. following a regimented meal plan.
